The Audacity of Hope, by Barack Obama

Throughout my career I've had the opportunity to work with some very high profile people. My trip out to Chicago for the Audacity of Hope's photo shoot with photographer Deborah Feingold, still sits at the top of my list. Meeting Senator Obama was an incredible experience that I will never, ever forget. He was funny, incredibly charismatic...and he had my vote at 'hello'.

After spending a windy day by the water, we ended up using one of the last shots of the day, of him without his tie sitting on a chair in the hotel room. And the rest is, well, history...

Online Interviews: Alan Rinzler and Joel Friedlander

I have Alan Rinzler to thank for jumpstarting my freelance career working with indi-authors. After seeing some of my work in the bookstore, Alan contacted me for an interview. I couldn't have been more flattered, especially when I saw the company of other designers he had me with. Over the years Alan has been kind enough to send many wonderful clients my way of which I am extremely grateful.

Joel Friedlander, of TheBookDesigner also showcased me, and my work, on his very popular and incredibly informative blog. He too, has sent many people my way who recognize the importance of a professinally designed book cover.

What I've Learned From You by Dr. Scott Kelly

What I've Learned From You by Dr. Scott KellyI've been very lucky to have had some wonderful clients, but Dr. Kelly had to be the most appreciative client I've had in a while. His book was a wonderful compilation of stories that he'd put together throughout his time as a doctor. It's a great book and I'm hoping it sells tons. The most fun was when Scott sent us this photo of Dr. Sanjay Gupta reading his book, that Dr. Gupta had tweeted about!

Very cool.

Series Packaging for Anne Pfeffer's Young Adult book series

Book Cover Series for Anne Pfeffer

Series Packaging for Anne Pfeffer's Young Adult book seriesAnne Pfeffer came to me to re-package her Young Adult series. She felt that the original book covers, although great on their own, didn't give them the Series look they needed. It was a wonderful challenge to work on them as a set, and I'm very proud of the results. I also helped Anne with some of her marketing, creating a twitter header and the eFlyer that she sent around for early reads.

Check out this out this blog post from Canace's Book Blog on how I put together the fourth and final cover Just Pru.

I also had fun putting together Valerie's twitter header to help her get tweeting!
