Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

I work primarily with independent authors, small presses, and publishing professionals who want their books to look polished, credible, and market-ready. While many of my clients are first-time authors, I also work with experienced writers who want to elevate their presentation.

Are you a Brooklyn-based book cover designer?

Yes. I’m a Brooklyn-based book cover designer, and I work with authors locally in Brooklyn and New York City as well as with clients nationwide and internationally.

What types of books do you design covers for?

I design covers for nonfiction, memoir, literary fiction, historical fiction, and select genre fiction. My focus is always on clarity, tone, and positioning—making sure the cover reflects the book’s content and reaches the right readers.

Do you only design book covers?

No. In addition to book cover design, I offer interior book layout and design, publishing support, and related design services to help authors present their work professionally from cover to final files.

What is your design process like?

Every project begins with a conversation about your book, your goals, and your audience. Once I receive your manuscript (or as much of it as is available), I develop multiple cover concepts for you to review. From there, we refine the chosen direction together until the final design feels right.

How many cover concepts do you provide?

My standard cover design projects include at least three unique cover concepts, followed by revisions to arrive at the final design.

Do you read the manuscript?

I read as much of the manuscript as time allows in order to understand tone, themes, and audience. This helps ensure the design aligns with the heart of the book.

Do you work with stock images?

Yes. When appropriate, I source professional stock imagery and include licensing as part of my cover design fee.

Can you help with both print and eBook formats?

Absolutely. All cover projects include print-ready files and eBook covers, prepared to meet the specifications of your chosen printer or platform.

Do you offer interior layout and design?

Yes. I provide professional interior layout and design for print and digital (epub) books, creating clean, readable interiors that align visually with the cover and genre expectations.

Do you help prepare files for printers?

Yes. I prepare print-ready files and can coordinate specifications for platforms such as KDP, IngramSpark, or independent printers.

Do you offer consultations?

Yes. I offer complimentary consultations to discuss your project and determine whether we’re a good fit.
